Doug Clarke is an exciting and inventive guitarist. He studied for many years with the legendary guitarist Tal Farlow, from whom he gained keen insight into the melodic and harmonic complexities of bebop and traditional jazz. He earned a BA from Berklee College of Music and a Masters of Music in jazz performance from Rutgers. As a highly sought after sideman, Doug has developed into an exceptional and innovative modern guitarist and composer. He has performed throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, South America, and Europe He has performed with Joe Williams, Bruce Barth, Sam Newsome, and Mark Egan, as well as performing shows for Connie Stevens, Shirley Jones, Theresa Brewer, Joe Piscopo, Al Martino, Jerry Vale, Jerry Lewis, and many others. Recent performances include a memorial concert at Rutgers with special guests Wynton Marsalis, Jon Faddis, and Terell Stafford, and a concert in Capri, Italy with The Ron Odrich Quartet. In 2017 Doug played in Kragero, Norway with Gabrielle Stravelli and Pat O'Leary. He composed theme music for PBS cooking show “Healthy Heritage Kitchen”. His CD “Beware of Doug” has received excellent reviews and is being played on radio stations nationwide.
