Working Douglas is a jazz trio featuring singer Lyell Gressitt backed by the warm sounds of jazz guitar and acoustic bass. The trio with its novel instrumentation presents distinctive interpretations of great American and Brazilian jazz standards from composers Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim and many others. Their unique sound is both captivating and easy on the ears.

     The band members are all world-class musicians who have performed with a list of legendary players that reads like a Who's Who in jazz, including Tal Farlow, Jim Hall, Les Paul, Stan Getz, Marion McPartland, Norah Jones, Lionel Hampton, and many others.

     Singer, Lyell Gressitt is an adventurous vocalist with a warm and vibrant tone. Her superb phrasing can be attributed to a rhythmic freedom developed as a young child influenced by her father who was a fine swing drummer.

     Doug Clarke is an exciting and inventive guitarist. He studied for many years with the legendary guitarist Tal Farlow, from whom he gained keen insight into the melodic and harmonic complexities of bebop and traditional jazz.

     Bassist, Gary Mazzaroppi’s virtuosity and versatility are unparalleled. Gary is able to bring his own unique sound and artistry to the music while maintaining a supportive role.
